So I have finally arrived. I took a plane to Salt Lake city Utah and then proceeded to Vegas. The plane arrived in Vegas a little late so I didnt have much time to sightsee. I met an interesting fellow on the plane who happened to live in Vegas. Bill and I had a great conversation and I can honestly say it made the flight all the more better. He is a multi-millionaire who owns 4 houses and bought me a beer. I will post a second blog about this when I get an internet connection.
Vegas- I arrived in desperate need to find Korean Air- my next airline and ultimate final destination-Korea. There are 2 terminals. The first is for Domestic Flights and the other for International travel. I had to take a tram and walk 10 minutes just to find Korean Air. I didnt have much time to spare and frankly I wasn't very impressed with Vegas.
The plane ride to Korea (Seoul) was very long and arduous. I couldnt sleep much. I had many recollections about my past and would constantly wake up while on the plane. The Korean stewardesses were very friendly and good looking. I tried to talk to them a little but its going to take some gettting used to. Adapting to a new life.
Arriving to Korea
I Immediately took a bus from Seoul down to Gumi-city where I work. I wasted no time and wanted to get settled in as soon as possible. My boss was there waiting for me and helped me get to my new dwelling.
I arrived in Gumi around Noon Korean time. Strangely enough I ended up teaching a couple classes that day. My first day. My boss and I are already great friends. I should have went to bed early that night but I stayed up drinking Soju with my boss and this is just a sign for more good times to follow. I had the spins so bad and a killing hangover that didnt completely go away until 1o pm. I hope to stay away from Soju and become close to Budweiser!
Fate as a funny way of playing with you. Since arriving I have found my new Food For Thought-McDonalds. I have eaten there twice thus far. I think I will be eating there quite frequently.
A few problems so far....I can't drink the water. It has a funny taste and therefore I am drinking flavored water from the local 7-11. I made my way to a PC (Internet) cafe and here I am.
I am going to be teaching in the afternoon at least two classes. I have already assigned homework and have a general idea of what I need to do. My first lesson was the helping verb (is are was were) for progressive tense.
The weather is really humid and its going to take some getting used to.
This blog is getting a little long. Until next time!
